As the weather cools down and the sun sets earlier, abundant beer, Bavarian tradition and autumnal activities are at their peak on the North Fork. 

Here’s our list of events to hit for all the Oktoberfest spirit and fall feels:

26th Annual Fall Festival | Saturdays & Sundays, Sept. 6 – Oct. 26, noon – 6 p.m. 

Spend time outside listening to live music and enjoying warmth from the oversized fire pit at Cooperage Inn. The full-service bar will serve local craft beers, wines, spirits and, to amp up the autumn energy, hot spiked apple cider. Munch on roasted corn, bratwurst and sauerkraut, potato pancakes and NoFo Pot Pies from the food counter, plus pumpkin bread and apple cider donuts to add to the fun. Visit here for more info. 

Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. Oktoberfest | Sept. 14, noon – 5 p.m. 

Try the Oktoberfest Menu at Greenport Harbor Brewing Company while appreciating the music from the German oompah band The Die Spitzbuam at 1 p.m. Be sure to show up in your best Oktoberfest attire for entry into the costume contest and muster up some strength for the stein holding competition. Crafting for a Cause | Sept. 17, 6 p.m. 

Eastern Front Brewing Co. is hosting a pumpkin wreath-making guided workshop. Mary Sanchez and Janet Thomson will walk attendees through creating the decorations while indulging in fall sips from Eastern Front. The event costs $30 per person and all materials are provided. Tucker’s Taproom & Smokehouse Oktoberfest | Sept. 20, 21, 27 & 28, 3 p.m.

Tucker’s Taproom & Smokehouse will welcome all the German and Bavarian culture at their Oktoberfest celebration with loads of contests, including best dressed, stein holding, keg rolling, keg throwing and a celebratory barrel tap. Get your outfit inspiration and further information here.

Oktoberfest at Jamesport Farm Brewery | Sept. 27 – Oct. 6, noon – 8 p.m. 

Beer is at the forefront for Jamesport Farm Brewery, where there will be a limited stein release and Oktoberfest beer release for the entire last week of September into October. Oktoberfest at Long Ireland | Oct. 4, noon – 9 p.m.
