Not that we need an excuse to stroll into any one of the lovely and varied tasting rooms on the East End, but with harvest in full swing, it feels apropos to raise a glass to local wine. “Come Over, October” is a national movement embraced by the New York Wine & Grape Foundation, creating a month-long celebration of New York wine. And what better time than harvest season? Several of our local wineries have great sip-centric deals to get you tasting favorite wines and trying out new ones for this year’s COO. Here’s what’s up on the North and South Forks:

Chronicle Wines, 2885 Peconic Lane, Peconic

Open Friday to Sunday, noon to 6 p.m., head to Chronicles comfy, bright tasting room and your first glass of wine is on them when you mention, “Come Over, October.”

Palmer Vineyards, 5120 Sound Ave., Riverheaad

At Palmer, mention “Come Over, October” and get half off of tasting flights Monday to Wednesday throughout the whole month.

Sparkling Pointe, County Road 48, Southold

Book ahead for the weekend-only Cuvée and Canapes experience for the month of October, where three savory and one sweet bite are each paired with a complementing expression of SP’s gorgeous sparklers. Tickets are $60.
