The North Fork TV Festival is back for its 10th year, packed with appearances from plenty of iconic television stars and even some new series as per festival goers’ requests.
On June 17 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and June 18 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., The Sound View of Greenport (58775 County Road 48, Greenport, 631-477-1910) will come alive with pilot screenings, panel discussions, performances and receptions put on by the decade-old festival.
Noah Doyle, founder of the festival, is looking forward to kick starting the Inside the Actors Studio series, where attendees can network in small group settings of 20 to 30 people, with industry professionals.
“A lot of people said, ‘I want to be able to meet actors, talk to them and hear their life story in a very small environment,” says Doyle.
In the Piano Bar of The Sound View Greenport, an impressive list of well-known faces from TV will share their experiences hitting the screens.
Tramell Tillman who played Milchik in “Severance;” Christopher Briney known for his role as Conrad Fisher in “The Summer I Turned Pretty;” Anna Chlumsky, the actress behind Amy Brookheimer in “Veep;” Richard Kind who stars as Vince Fish in “Only Murders in the Building;” Susan Kelechi Watson acting as Beth in “This Is Us” and Jasmine Haney in “The Residence;” and Jenn Lyon who portrayed Jennifer Husser in “Jaws” are confirmed to take the stage during this series.
“It’s a diverse crowd, it really spans the spectrum,” says Doyle.
This year, continuing with tradition, the festival will present a Breakout Performance, Rising Star and Canopy Award – the Canopy being the highest accolade of the three.
Briney will be honored as the 2025 rising star, Tillman as the breakout performer and Christoper Meloni who played Elliot Stabler in “Law & Order Organized Crime” will be given the Canopy Award.
The festival will also continue celebrating independently produced television pilots, selected from their script completion to which they receive hundreds of submissions each year.
Six pilots – showcasing physiological, powerful and suspenseful themes – will be screened in The Sound View Greenport library.
Look out for “So Dark The Sky,” “What Haunts Us,” “The Rebel Girls,” “$hare,” “Settle” and “Hitman: Secrets of Lies” on the program schedule to see these newly imagined television concepts unfold.
“That’s the majority of what the festival focuses on all year [to prepare],” says Doyle. “And then we add this other programming, but we’re really here to celebrate independently produced TV pilot honorees.”
Despite the array of dream events for any TV fanatic, Doyle believes that the attendees’ favorite part is the setting.
“Everyone loves coming to the North Fork,” says Doyle.
To close the two-day event, attendees are invited to a closing night party at the Greenport Harbor Brewing Company (42155 Main Road, Peconic, 631-477-1100).
