House proud

Built in 2018 but with ongoing improvement projects that finished in 2023, this home is inspired by New England on the outside and Europe on the inside, with its attention to details and old-world quality. The final phase of the buildout created a walk-out ground level to the yard with water views.

“The home was built by a skilled European craftsman from Poland, who created an incredibly organic and beautiful, timeless home,” says Nicholas Planamento, who is listing the home with Town & County/William Raveis. “He did an incredible job and created a home with light, bright interior that is spacious and very comfortable, defying its narrow width.”

What’s the plan?

The first floor is anchored by a 531-square-foot great room in an open format with the kitchen and dining area. A wood-burning fireplace is flanked by built-in shelves and a wall of windows, while a glass door lets in generous light and leads to the 28.9 x 12.10 deck. The bead-board ceiling features exposed wood beams. A 177-square-foot room, currently used as a home office/den, is adjacent to a full bathroom. Planamento says the addition of a door can create an ensuite, fourth bedroom, as the house is county-approved for such a configuration.

The second level is devoted to three bedrooms, two of which share a hallway bathroom. The 300-square-foot primary bedroom includes two walk-in closets, a large bathroom with a soaking tub and a private 13.3 x 9 balcony. The ground level is the complete footprint of the house and features a 959-square-foot rec room, wet bar, storage areas and a half bathroom.

What’s cooking?

The nearly 250-square-foot kitchen is outfitted with Thermador appliances and a pantry of nearly 25 square feet. The center island includes a convenience sink and seats two: all cabinetry is topped with a composite stone with the appearance of supple brown leather.

What else?

Planamento says “no expense was spared” is the details and that shows up in the 9-inch chestnut plank floors throughout that give the home a rich, warm feel.

Agent’s callout

“There’s a strong benefit to this location,” Planamento says. “While you’re entrenched on the North Fork, this location allows for a quicker commute where you can be in the city in two hours—it is not cumbersome.”

Location, location, location

The home is .2 miles from Iron Pier Beach, on Long Island Sound and, on the opposite side, about 4.5 miles from South Jamesport. The Route 25 wine route is nearby, as are numerous gold facilities: Long Island National Golf Club, at Cherry Creek, and the Indian Island Golf Course adjacent to the county park.
