There’s a saying in the wine business: “If you want to make a small fortune in the wine business, start with a large one.”
While that may be true in marquis regions such as Napa Valley, where prime vineyard land can range from $50,000 per acre to more than $525,000 (and even higher for boutique vineyards of fewer than 10 acres), a dream winery can be yours in the North Fork for a relatively modest price. The industry has come a long way since Louisa and Alex Hargrave planted Long Island’s first commercial vineyard in Cutchogue in 1973. Today, North Fork wineries are not only agricultural endeavors, but have robust hospitality and public entertainment programming—from tours and tastings to live music and food truck events, allowing winery owners more options to generate awareness and income, while having a wine lifestyle.
“This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to acquire a landmark North Fork estate that offers the perfect blend of prestige, lifestyle, and business potential,” says Susan Orioli the Engel & Völkers North Fork agent representing the sale of Peconic’s Osprey’s Dominion. “With a celebrated winery brand, expansive vineyard acreage, event capabilities and a loyal following already in place, Osprey’s Dominion represents the kind of legacy investment that simply cannot be replicated.”
