Why limit it to Taco Tuesday, especially when there’s delicious local wine involved? It is all about Taco Thursday this summer at Suhru Wines.
On Thursdays in July and August, the Cutchogue winery is hosting Tacos + Tunes pop up nights at its tasting room.
Each Thursday evening, starting July 11, there will be live music by Long Island performers and eats from the Mattitaco food truck from 5 to 8 p.m. The rotating menu includes the Farm to Taco with shaved summer squash topped with local sweet corn and the BLT (aka the bacon lobster taco) made with butter poached lobster and smoked applewood bacon. There will also be several vegetarian options made with ingredients sourced from local farms.
“We wanted to collaborate with another business to support the local economy and this was the right fit,” said Suhru Wines director of sales and marketing Shelby Hearn. “Having it on Thursdays is a nice way to kick off the weekend, and for locals to have something to do during the week.”
The family-owned winery, established in 2008 by owner Susan Hearn and winemaker husband Russell Hearn, opened its beach-chic Main Road tasting room last year, serving a selection of crisp, bright white wines and fruit forward red wines. The newly released Suhru rosé and brut are available along with pours from sister label T’Jara Vineyards during Tacos + Tunes.
Suhru Wines is located at 28735 Main Road, Cutchogue.
