Following in the footsteps of craft beer, hard cider is more popular than ever, enjoying a steady fan base in all parts of the country. On the North Fork, the second annual Pour the Core hard cider festival drew more than 2,000 people to Peconic Bay Winery in Cutchogue Saturday Oct. 5.
Long Island purveyors like Woodside Orchards, Wölffer Estate Vineyard and Standard Cider Company represented a few of the 30 brands of crisp, refreshing brews made from fermented apples.
