Riverhead Street Painting Festival

Remember when you were a kid and drew on the sidewalk with chalk? If you head to Riverhead this weekend, you’ll find you’re not the only one. For the 17th year, East End Arts Annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival will take over East Main Street and the grounds of East End Arts on Sunday May 26.  As family friendly as it gets, the streets will be full of aspiring artists of all stripes creating chalk masterpieces on the street.  Among the many activities planned, there will be fine arts and crafts, live music, face painting, a drum circle, gourmet food trucks and more.

Northforker tip: Check out the art collective Long Island Creative Vortex’ “Unity” piece, a collaborative work in which festival attendees have the opportunity to add their marks and help create a unique work of art.

Stay after the fair for Suffolk Theater’s “After Party” Concert featuring Who Are Those Guys? Doors open at 5:30pm and the show begins at 7pm. General admission tickets are $20.

The Riverhead Street Painting Festival will be held Sunday May 26 from 12pm to 5pm in Downtown Riverhead. The rain date is May 27, 2pm to 5pm. Admission is free. To visit the Riverhead Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival’s website, click here.
