Courtesy Photo | Kathryn Zukowski and Dana Kowalsick of Belle Voci (AKA The Opera Babes) will perform at Diliberto Winery Saturday August 31 as part of the winery’s Opera in the Vines series.

It may seem like an unlikely market to tap into, but Belle Voci is determined to take over the North Fork with their opera music. And so far it seems to be working.

Kathryn Zukowski and Dana Kowalsick are the vocalists and creators of Belle Voci, a local group who performs opera arias and classical music at wineries and restaurants on the North and South Forks of Long Island. (more…)

In her case, she got her horse. Now, 20 years later, she’s found herself running a horse-breeding operation on a sprawling property in Riverhead — with a massive, newly built indoor horse ring serving as its centerpiece. (more…)

A new exhibit called Photo-Technic will run from August 16 through September 22 at the Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery & Studio in Cutchogue. An Artists’ Reception will be held Friday, August 16 from 6 – 8 p.m. with wines provided by Macari Vineyards.

Photo-Technic features the work of different photographic techniques from two talented photographers, Dave Burns and Gerry Giliberti. (more…)

The cosmos will be putting on quite a show in the night skies this weekend, and there are plenty of seats in the house.

The Perseid Meteor Shower is a prolific meteor shower that is visible around mid-July each year, with the peak activity this year between August 9 and 14. Sunday night after midnight into Monday morning will provide the most action. (more…)
