The Tall Ships are coming to Greenport and so is your new favorite mixed drink.

On June 17th, Noah’s restaurant will host a competition showcasing the talents of local bartenders in search of the perfect Greenport Tall Ships Challenge 2015 cocktail.

Bartenders representing various Greenport restaurants will mix their original concoctions at the bar at Noah’s for all to sample and a panel of judges will vote to decide the Official Tall Ships Cocktail.

Some of the participants include Noah’s owner Noah Schwartz, Brix N Rye bartender and co-owner Evan Bucholz and First and South co-owner Sarah Phillips.

The winning cocktail will be served at participating Greenport eating establishments during the Greenport Tall Ships Challenge, which will run from July 4th through 7th. The event will feature six celebrated ships during the four-day 4th of July celebration.

One of the highlights of this year’s festival is the arrival of France’s L’Hermione, a sailing vessel which will be making a symbolic journey across the Atlantic to commemorate LaFayette’s voyage in 1780, celebrating the strong ties between the United States and France.

The competition will be held 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17th, at Noah’s, 136 Front Street in Greenport. The public is encouraged to attend and root for their favorite mixologist. Complimentary samples of the competitors’ cocktails and bar food will be served.
