Lucharitos is giving its most devoted customers a new way to make the most of their visits.
The Long Island Tex-Mex restaurant group has launched Lucha Life, a $4.99-per-month membership that offers dining perks, exclusive tastings, early access to menu items and special experiences across its locations.
“This is kind of a way of giving back to our super loyal customers because we have five locations right now and some of our customers like to like travel to different Lucharitos and get the different experience, and it’s just a way of saying thank you,” Marc LaMaina, owner of Lucharitos, says.
Lucha Life is valid at all Lucharitos locations, including Greenport (119 Main St., Greenport, 631-477-6666) and Aquebogue (487 Main Road, Aquebogue, 631-779-3681) on the North Fork, as well as restaurants in Melville (872 Walt Whitman Road, Melville, 631-421-2317), Center Moriches (177 Main St., Center Moriches, 631-400-9625) and Ronkonkoma (7 Hawkins Ave., Ronkonkoma, 631-309-4999).
Unlike the restaurant’s established points-based loyalty program, which lets customers earn rewards through purchases made with the same credit card, Lucha Life offers a more personalized experience for regular visitors.
Members receive 15% off one item on each visit, plus a $25 credit for food or drinks during their birthday week. The membership also includes special promotions and experiences beyond the standard menu and everyday discounts.
One example is extended happy hour. During select promotions, members can get an extra hour beyond the restaurant’s traditional 3-6 p.m. happy hour, as long as they show their subscriber badge to a bartender or server.
Tastings are another central part of the program. Members may be invited to sample new tequilas and upcoming menu items, sometimes before they are available to the broader customer base. Lucharitos also plans to use those sessions to gather direct feedback, allowing members to help shape future offerings.
“It’s basically free money because you get it back tenfold,” LaMaina says.
Members can sign up through Lucharitos’ Instagram page by selecting the subscription option. Members verify their status by logging in to Instagram and showing their subscriber badge when they visit. The program runs alongside the restaurant group’s existing loyalty rewards.
“It’s not to find necessarily new customers,” LaMaina says. “I’m trying to invest love and loyalty into the customers that we have and that show up for us.”
