For Lucharito’s, ocho will be the new cinco.

For non-Spanish-speakers, that means that “eight will be the new five.” To further elaborate, that means that instead of re-opening on Cinco de Mayo, the Greenport “Baja-style” eatery which has been closed for renovations since mid-March will in fact be opening a few days later than expected — on May 8.

So instead of a Cinco de Mayo party, Lucharito’s will celebrate on Ocho de Mayo.

After months of preparation, Avo Mexican Grill in Wading River will open its doors tomorrow, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m., the restaurant’s co-owners confirmed this week.

“Excited isn’t even the word,” said co-owner Tara Dietz of Baiting Hollow. “It’s surreal that we’re opening.”  (more…)

A new eatery will be opening up shop in coming weeks in the space that formerly held Pagano’s Little Italian Place.

Bryan Villanti will be launching Vino N’ Vittles at 110 Front St., offering local wines and full menu ranging from scallops to shrimp scampi to burgers.  (more…)
