Tucked away on bucolic Oregon Road in Mattituck sits the pretty Rose Hill Vineyards & Inn (2000 Oregon Road, Mattituck, 631-804-0367), a hidden gem of a wine country respite off the beaten path of the prying eyes (and phones) of the TikTok besot.
Owned by Randy and Barbara Frankel since they bought the former Shinn Estate Vineyards in 2017, Rose Hill boasts four guestrooms in a renovated farmhouse, an elegant tasting room offering award-winning bottles made by winemaker Patrick Caserta, a quiet shady patio, a stylish library room and a rustic vineyard shop that’s not your garden-variety souvenir stop.
“This was the original tasting room when the vineyard was owned by Shinn,” says Janelle Gerle, the shop’s manager. “We did the renovation of [the shop] and the library in 2022.” With its country-chic vibe, Rose Hill’s on-site shop sells a well-curated slate of books, clothing, bags, glassware, candles, local goods and, of course, wine. You won’t find a nicer place for a gift, a getaway or a glass of vino to enjoy — or to give to someone special to enjoy.

While Rose Hill offers a varied selection of wine — from the 2019 Clarity, which won the 2025 Governor’s Cup in the New York Wine Classic, to Concrete Blond, a sauvignon blanc aged in concrete — the red blend is an appealing everyday drinking wine with bright aromas of red cherries and spice.
