Summer on the North Fork is sweet in more ways than one. For those willing to roll up their sleeves and venture into the fields, a variety of berries are ripe for the picking — fresh, juicy and straight from the source.
Whether you’re looking for a fun weekend activity with the kids, chasing a nostalgic summer tradition or hunting for the best berries for jam or a homemade pie, here’s where to fill your baskets this summer.
Note: Be sure to check each farm’s website or call ahead before arriving for your day of berry picking, as U-pick may be closed due to limited quantities or weather conditions. U-Pick berries are typically on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early for the best selection.
