This week two fundraisers, in support of Crescent Duck Farm and the Greenport Fire Department, top our list of activities. Or, take in a show at a local theater, attend a dance party, taste tons of chili, or attend a historical lecture if you’re looking for something fun to do as we head into February.    

FRIDAY         

Leading Ladies | North Fork Community Theatre, 12700 Old Sound Ave., Mattituck

Looking for a local night out? This is the last weekend to catch NFCT’s hilarious comedy Leading Ladies. The show runs Friday, Jan. 31 and Saturday Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday Feb. 2 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $30, click here to purchase.

Craig Hopping | Ziggy’s Place, 214 Marcy Ave., Riverhead

At 7 p.m., talented vocalist Craig Hopping brings the blues with a side of soul and heavy metal to this new venue at the Polish Hall in Riverhead. Suggested donation is $10; for more details, check here.

SATURDAY

Crescent Duck Farms Fundraiser | North Fork Brewing Company, 24 East 2nd Street Suite A, Riverhead

Stop in from 1–5 p.m. to support this fundraiser, where $1 from every pint and pack goes to Crescent Duck Farms, and 100% of raffle money raised (featuring prizes from local hotels restaurants, vineyards, breweries, and artists) goes to help this local business in need. Let’s Make Some Noise Dance Party | Southold American Legion, 51655 Main Road, Southold

From 7–10 p.m., DJ Phil spins classic dance music to blast the winter blues away. For 21 and over; cash bar, 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door; for yours, click here.

Spaghetti & Meatball Dinner | Greenport Fire Department, 236 3rd St., Greenport

The inaugural “Red Sauce Night” supports the acquisition of a marine fire/rescue vessel for Greenport Harbor. From 4–8 p.m., eat in or take-out; menu includes spaghetti and meatballs, mozzarella sticks, salad, garlic bread, tiramisu, wine, beer and soda (no drinks to go). Music and merch as well; tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.

SUNDAY

North Fork Chili Cook-Off | Greenport Harbor Brewing Company, 42155 Main Road, Peconic

North Fork restaurants and local first responders vie for the Best Chili crown at this popular event, running from 12-4 p.m. A special beer will be released for the occasion; tickets are $20; kids under 12 free. To obtain your tickets, click here.

The Unsettling Legacy of Wayland Jefferson | Cutchogue-New Suffolk Library, 27550 Main Road, Cutchogue

The second session in the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council’s winter lecture series, author Jacqueline Dinan talks about her recent book, which discusses the controversial story of Southold historian and author Wayland Jefferson.
