The wine harvest is underway at vineyards all over the North Fork. For months, vineyard managers and winemakers have been working around the clock to tend to the vines—and obsessing over the weather forecast.

This growing season marked an important milestone for Jacqui and Greg Goodale: their first as the owners of Terra Vite Winery & Vineyard on Manor Lane in Jamesport.

On a recent morning, their crew was harvesting Syrah and Merlot grapes from a vineyard they manage in Aquebogue, filling bins with clusters of grapes that will eventually be bottled into a varietal Syrah and white merlot.
