With the peak of the summer coming fast, we’ve got plenty of new spots to shop around the North Fork. From new retail stores to second locations of hometown favorites, these new spots have plenty of cool items to offer.

At Dawn, Greenport

This new retail store is located at the Sound View Greenport hotel. It will serve as a beachside outpost for guests and locals, offering home goods, wellness items, travel necessities, gift, apparel and accessories. Inside, light wood tones and neutrals decorate a modern and calming space. The store is designed by an all women team — Dawn Franchino, who previously oversaw the hotel retail collections in Austin’s hospitality brand Bunkhouse, Kelly DeWitt of KKDW, and Maria Thompson of Sugar Shed, both design studios — and encapsulates the coast perfectly. Most products are sustainable and ethically made and are from women and BIPOC brands.

“The shop design was highly influenced by the design of the property itself,” Franchino said. “I wanted it to fit into the overall design aesthetic, while also having a slightly youthful but modern beach-side twist.”

The retail store will open on July 1st. Hours are Wednesday through Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mimi’s Collection, Greenport

This new store — tucked in Bootleg Alley in the space formerly occupied by Sprout Natural Parenting — sells European imports. Think leather and fur, imported rugs and women’s attire. Outside, the store has filled the alley between Ralph’s ice cream and Little Creek Oysters with bright hand painted mobiles and chimes as well as plates and dishes with an Aegean-inspired look.

Mimi’s Collection is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

One Love Beach, Southold

We all know and love the original location of this store in Greenport, selling paddle boards, apparel and beach goods. Now, they are opening a second location at Port of Egypt with many of the same items and vibes.

“Our store fits in well with being on the waterfront,” Chris Dowling, owner, told Northforker back in 2019 when news of the second location first went public. “It allows our customers, who don’t want to deal with traffic and parking in Greenport, access to us during the summer. It’s also great for the boaters who need easy access to sunscreen or a bathing suit.”

One Love Beach at Port of Egypt is open Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday by appointment.
