Each week, we’re spotlighting a different farm stand on the North Fork. Cooper Farms, tucked away on Breakwater Road in Mattituck, is open everyday from 8 a.m. to dusk.

Name: Cooper Farms

History: All the produce sold at the stand is grown on the land owner and proprietor Doug Cooper’s family has been farming for nearly 200 years, but the stand opened about 60 years ago. Back then, it was little more than a table on the side of the road that sold tomatoes and corn. Cooper expanded the farm stand itself, as well as the produce being sold.

What they are offering: With the end of the season coming, what is available changes daily: Recent finds include peppers, squash, pumpkins, and basil. Head on over to the farm stand to check it out before the cold winter rolls in.
