Each week, we will be spotlighting a different farm stand on the North Fork as more open up. Sang Lee Farms’ farm stand and garden center are both open everyday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the intention of staying open until 6 p.m. later in the summer.

Name: Sang Lee Farms

History: Sang Lee Farms is a multi-generation organic farm owned by the Lee family and was established in the 1940s in Melville and supplied New York’s Chinatown with produce. In the late 1950s, the farm expanded to include year-round produce from Florida and in 1964, the farm moved to Center Moriches. As the farm grew through the decades, they supplied wholesale distribution to Asian markets along the East Coast, but in 1987, the farm was moved to Peconic, became certified organic and eventually shifted to retail sales.

What they are offering: Strawberries, asparagus, sugar snap pea, zucchini, celery, fennel, leeks, scallions, bok choy, kale, arugula, radish, cucumbers and more.

What they will offer: Spring garlic, string beans, peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, cantaloupe, watermelon and more.
