Coming in at number 4 are the new businesses that opened on Mattituck’s Love Lane.
Love Lane was the place to be if you were opening an eatery in 2014.
Just ask the owners of Ammirati’s or Lombardi’s Market, who snatched up the only remaining vacancies on Mattituck’s most charming street. The two businesses opened within months of each other, simultaneously bringing renewed interest in checking out the downtown business scene.

Offering everything from egg sandwiches to homemade lobster salad, Ammirati’s opened in July in the former LLL Deli space.
In September, Lombardi’s opened its sixth location in the space previously occupied by Love Lane Market, which reopened briefly after suffering damage from Hurricane Sandy but later closed for good.
“I am thrilled to see all the storefronts filled,” Rosemary Batcheller, owner of Village Cheese Shop on Love Lane, said in December.
Lombardi’s is similar to the original Lombardi’s Market, an Italian deli and catering service in Holbrook. In addition to Italian favorites like pasta Bolognese, brick-oven pizza, chicken Marsala and meatloaf, the market carries food items from local vendors.
