Harbor Pet in Greenport to host Thanksgiving Pet Parade

Do you have a burning desire to dress up fido like a Thanksgiving yam this Turkey Day?

Then grab a doggie costume and join the Harbor Pet boutique in Greenport for the inaugural Thanksgiving Pet Parade fundraiser on Nov. 22. 

Parade participants, who are asked to dress their pets in a Thanksgiving-themed costume, will convene at noon in front of the Harbor Pet on Front Street. The event kicks off at 12:30. Judges will be on hand to determine the awards for best turkey-day outfit, most creative, best owner, pet costume combo, most original and more. Winners will be announced immediately after the parade.

“We wanted to do something a little different and extend the (tourist) season,” said Harbor Pet owner Kim Loper. “And its for a good cause.”

There is a $10 entry fee per pet and all proceeds benefit the North Fork Animal Welfare League. There will be treats, giveaways and raffles.
