Fall is in the air, but the flowers at Schmitt’s Family Farm on Roanoke Avenue in Riverhead haven’t called it quits yet.
Debbie Schmitt and her daughter-in-law Ashley over see the growing of about a dozen varieties. Their workers Angelina Galvez and Yoselin Sofia Cortes carefully cut them each day to create bouquets that are bursting with color. They are sold at the farmstead on Sound Avenue for $8 each. Ashley Schmitt said they usually last until Halloween.
