Here’s a meal where you’ll need a fork, knife and spoon.

For a vegetarian version of the classic soup and salad combo, check out Michelangelo’s Pizzeria & Restaurant in Mattituck and order a bowl of homemade minestrone soup and a cold gorgonzola salad slice of pizza.

The minestrone soup is made fresh daily and is chock full of veggies and beans, including: cauliflower, carrots and garbanzo beans ($5). Tip: Ask to substitute the Italian bread for a couple of garlic knots and use them for dipping.

Michelangelo’s salad slice is a thin, crispy sicilian slice piled high with a delicious gorgonzola salad ($3.75).

This healthy and affordable meal is a great choice for lunch or dinner during any season.
