Anyone looking to escape the daily grind for peace and quiet will likely fall in love with the unique and charming Walk in the Woods Bed and Breakfast.
Miles away from busy Route 25, but around the corner from the beach, woods, wetlands, nature and wildlife, the Southold inn is secluded on its well-manicured 11-acre estate.
Nearly a decade ago, innkeeper Flo Pellicano was inspired by a friend to open the B&B in her home of 17 years. The Dutch colonial is chock-full of trinkets and antiques — including dolls, board games and historic home décor — collected during her travels over the years.
“All of the pieces tell a story,” she said. “Everyone finds something in here that interests them.”
The four bedroom B&B offers spacious rooms that can accommodate families with children comfortably — some rooms even have separate smaller beds for those traveling with the kids.
Each has its own bathroom, free wifi and a television.

Bring your appetite to breakfast.
Walk in the Woods serves something for everyone. Yogurt with granola, cereal, rolls, pastries, coffee and tea are menu staples. They are complemented with a hot meal item such as French toast or eggs and bacon.
The grand home is somewhat reminiscent of a southern plantation with a large wraparound front porch, always available for relaxing and enjoying a glass of iced tea or hot cider, depending on the season.
When it is time to head in, the B&B has a pool table, chess board and other games such a monopoly.
Walk in the Woods is located at 9680 N Bayview Rd, Southold, NY 11971
