MEET is now open in Greenport’s historic Stirling Square, joining its siblings MAIN, NOSH and PREP to complete Chef Keith Luce’s The Square.
MEET offers wine and beer tastings and a storeroom where guests can sample New York-produced beer, wine and spirits as well as participate in cooking and food/beverage pairing classes.
“It’s a really unique concept,” said MEET manager Dana Kowalsick. “I’m glad it found a place in Greeport.”
When Luce purchased the former North Fork Oyster Company in March, he said he wanted to create a unique North Fork dining destination for visitors and locals alike. With that vision in mind, he opened MAIN Restaurant & Oyster Bar along with artisanal food shops NOSH and PREP.
MEET will also bring something a bit different to the North Fork. The tasting room will feature wine, beer and spirits from New York State, but not necessarily produced on Long Island, he said.
It will also be opened later than traditional tasting rooms, closing at 9 p.m.
Additionally, the shop will sell high-end ingredients, cooking accessories and pre-packaged foods from The Square’s other eateries.
The venue will also regularly host small acoustic musical performances, Luce said.
