Two Mattituck businesses are looking to expand to Greenport, northforker has learned.
The popular First Fridays is returning to Mattituck’s Love Lane from 6 to 9 p.m. this Friday.
Created last year, the four-date event is a collaborative effort by Love Lane merchants to attract tourists and locals to visit after hours, stay late and enjoy what the area has to offer.
The Rotary Club of Riverhead will hold its 10th annual “Rotary Uncorked” benefit at Martha Clara Vineyards in Riverhead this Wednesday, May 25, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Apparently Jan. 20 is something called National Cheese Lovers Day.

Today’s college graduates are famously hard pressed to find a job during this historically sluggish economy.
Not so for Suffolk County Community College’s culinary school students and alumni.
Nearly 100 percent of the college’s culinary arts program graduates find work in the field, with many ending up in upscale commercial kitchens throughout the North Fork, said program director Richard Freilich. (more…)
