As a major winter storm is preparing to bear down on the East End, here’s something that came across our desk that cheered us up a bit.

The Winter Painkiller is a hot cocktail now being served up at Red Maple, the cozy new American restaurant and bar at The Chequit on Shelter Island.

The inspiration for The Winter Painkiller comes from David Bowd, CEO of Salt Hotels (owners of The Chequit) and one of his favorite concoctions, the Painkiller. (more…)

It appears that Vogue’s fashionistas have a soft spot for the East End.

An article posted on the magazine’s website April 4 titled “7 Great Island Vacations — No Passport Required” extols the virtues of eastern Long Island  — especially those of the North Fork and Shelter Island. (more…)

It may be freezing cold outside and the ground is still covered with snow and ice, but British Vogue Magazine is already thinking summer — summer on Shelter Island specifically.

The Island and the Chequit Inn received a major shout out in the British fashion magazine’s February 2016 issue.
