Home and Loft (449 Main St., Greenport, 917-940-7061) is bringing an expanded collection of independent makers, seasonal merchandise and giftable goods to Greenport this holiday season as its summer pop-up transforms into a winter shopping destination.
The Holidays at the Shore event builds on the shop’s July 1 opening, introducing additional brands and products while retaining the eclectic assortment that drew customers during its first summer.
“We really had a good summer and good feedback from the locals and passersby, and everybody loved us being there,” owner Handan Anlar says. “The area kind of needed this type of store.”
The shop features women-owned businesses spanning clothing, accessories, home goods, beauty products and gifts.
The shop’s existing brands include Namai, Carla Colour, Eleven Six Co., Intiearth, The Highland Foundry, ÏLD Jewelry, Good Rhubarb, Skippy Cotton, Elizabeth Grubaugh and Home and Loft.
New additions for the holiday season include My Neighbors Co., Flora Botanical, Ware of the Dogs, Tracey Tanner, Cat Donohue and The Potter Table.
The holiday assortment will feature handmade cashmere and alpaca sweaters, alpaca pillows, wool blankets, mittens, cashmere socks and handmade dog sweaters. Shoppers can also find cat and dog toys, small bags and pouches, unisex sweatshirts, beauty products, hand creams, household cleaning supplies, Greek olive oil, crackers and other giftable accessories.
The shop will continue carrying its existing merchandise, including Turkish towels, bathrobes, cotton jackets, upcycled fabric bags, vintage coats made from recycled materials, stationery, table linens, jewelry and ornaments.
The expanded selection reflects Anlar’s interest in adapting the shop’s merchandise to the season while exploring the holiday shopping experience in Greenport.
The event’s scheduled dates include Nov. 6-8, Nov. 27-29, Dec. 11-13, Dec. 17-20, and Dec. 23. The shop currently plans to operate from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with additional dates or hours possible closer to Christmas. Updates will be posted on the store’s Instagram account.
The Dec. 18 Greenport Holiday Stroll will provide another opportunity for holiday shopping, with the shop expecting to remain open until 8 p.m.
Anlar also plans to offer drinks and bites and host olive oil and cracker tastings during a December shopping event.
