It’s hard not to fall in love with Greenport Village. The downtown is filled with some of the North Fork’s best restaurants, nightlife, shopping, beaches, green space, festivals, and direct access to Shelter Island and NYC. One of the things we like best about the area is how many of the homes that are located within the village itself are historic and have been well-maintained through the years.

This all certainly applies to this week’s North Fork Dream Home, a federal-style circa 1900’s gem that’s just steps from 5th Street Beach.

“Location does matter; this special home is located in the sought-after enclave of West Dublin, a quiet and peaceful seaside residential section of the North Fork’s only seaport walking village,” said co-listing agent Nancy Cervelli of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty.

The home, with its classic architectural elements, has modern conveniences and features four bedrooms including a primary ensuite bedroom with a water view balcony and three bathrooms.

You’re welcomed by a traditional covered rocking porch and on the first level, you’ll find a sitting room that’s a book lover’s dream with floor-to-ceiling bookcases, an eat-in kitchen with an adjoining breakfast nook, a formal dining room, and a cozy living room.

“The spacious eat-in kitchen was recently updated and includes granite countertops,” co-listing agent, Barry Novick also of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty told us. “The room is drenched in the morning light, and also has a southern exposure, making it a sunny, bright space.”

The property itself is beautifully landscaped with mature plantings. And there is a detached outbuilding that is perfect for a studio, office, or a gardener’s dream potting shed.

“Make this historic home your own, and along with the sense of pride and care with which the home has been maintained, you’ll feel a sense of history and connection to Greenport’s maritime heritage,” Cervelli added.

It is listed at $1,295,000.
