For science lovers: Long Island Science Center’s online STEM classes
Even though the Long Island Science Center in Riverhead is temporarily closed, they are still offering an amazing lineup of online classes live through Zoom to keep your learners learning. The full schedule, which can be found on the center’s Facebook and website, includes “Be a Microbiologist,” where students will learn how easily germs are spread and participate in a hands-on home experiment, as well as “All About Air” where students investigate the properties of air, using balls, balloons, bags, and even a hairdryer. Classes are offered on a pay-what-you-can donation basis.
