Classic Cool: Fun at the Northforker Wine & Food Classic

It never rains on the Northforker Wine & Food Classic — the bad weather predications earlier in the week were swept away last night, with blue skies and a whole lot of al fresco fun by the vines at Borghese Vineyard in Cutchogue at this beloved annual Labor Day kick-off.

Around 50 wineries, distilleries, breweries and of course a bounty of restaurants, bakers and other delicious makers brought their A game to the event, where happy, hungry and thirsty guests got to dig into irresistible dishes, like the stunning seafood-centric paella from chef Alex Bujoreneau of R.Aire, bacon-and-fresh-ricotta topped homemade buttermilk biscuits with a peach compote from First & South served up by owner Sarah Philips Roth and the real-deal winery owners and winemakers of our local liquid treasure, like Ron Goerler of Jamesport Vineyards, Anthony Sannino of Sannino Vineyard, Greg Gove of Peconic Bay Vineyards and Robin Epperson McCarthy of Saltbird Cellars poured out the fruits of the labor.

Local radio heroes WEHM were on the scene, too, with DJ Harry Wareing getting the scoop from the culinary cache of talent on hand.
