While working remotely opens up lots of opportunity for some people, not having a designated space to be creative or focus on projects can be a challenge.
Kate Tardif, a Southold native, has created a solution.
The Office at Southold (51020 Main Road, Suite B, Southold) is a private workspace open to full-day (10 hour), half-day (5 hour) or quick sprint (2 hour) bookings.

The open floor plan workspace is ADA accessible and features a large desk with a monitor, conference table, kitchenette and bathroom.
As a long time producer for advertising agencies, a freelance producer and now owner of her own company, Out East Production, Tardif is well-versed in working away from an office since she began working remotely in 2020.
The mom of two has worked out of a home office and traveled for shoots, but as her kids got older, she needed a designated space to go and get projects done.

“I was going to renovate a space for myself to escape to,” says Tardif. “And then I realized there are so many other people in my situation that are freelancers or parents that are remote and have kids running around and need a place to escape to.”
She’s partnering on the project with her mother, attorney Patricia Moore, and her sister, Emily Machida, who is in the construction management and building business.
All bookings for the space can be done online and each patron is provided with a unique access code for the space.
The Quick Sprint sessions are priced at $125, half day at $225 and full at $475. Each person can bring one guest and additional guests can be added for a fee.
Tardif will begin accepting bookings on July 1, with limited availability from June 18 during The Office’s soft opening and special pre-opening promotions.
