Yoga Folk owner Savannah Sellick found her footing in Mattituck and is on to her next move, expanding to another location at 8 E. Main St., Riverhead.
“Our dream is to open multiple yoga studios,” says Sellick. “It makes the town a better place and it just brings everybody together.”
In January 2025, Sellick brought her love for the practice to 13175 Main Road, Mattituck. Come spring 2026, the 2,000 square foot space in Riverhead — much larger than the Mattituck studio — will be the home to the new venture, following renovations to create an open concept.
Formerly a bank, the property’s walls dividing offices will be knocked down, allowing for the front window’s natural light to illuminate the building.
Sellick is considering taking advantage of the 15-foot ceilings to host acro yoga or install pull-up bars in the future, right in line with her reimagined class lineup in Riverhead.
Expect mat Pilates, weighted barre, sculpt and beginner level weightlifting classes, Sellick says, in addition to typical yoga.
“I also want to offer classes that feel like you’re going to a club and you’re listening to some loud music; you’re dancing to the beat but you’re also getting a workout in,” says Sellick. “So, high intensity sculpt classes that make you sweat and release anything that you need to let go of, and then you leave and you go home and take a shower and your day is that much more glowy and bright.”
Many of Yoga Folk Mattituck’s instructors will be teaching at the new location, but Sellick plans to bring on more.
In celebration of the new studio, she is currently offering a deal for new members — a locked rate of $39 per week for unlimited classes at both locations, as opposed to the standard $45 for unlimited classes.
With the recent groundbreaking on the Town of Riverhead’s revitalization initiative, Sellick is excited to be part of the newness coming into downtown. “This is a vibe,” says Sellick.
