Pups who plunge

9th Annual Dog Dock Diving Weekend

Moores Lane Polo Grounds, Greenport

Raise money for the Greenport Skate Park and other local charities at this super fun, floppy-eared event, where dogs compete for plunging perfection while venders sell treats for your four-legged friends (and you). Limited swag bags for those who arrive early. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day-of. For more details, check out harbor-pet.com.

A berry good time

Mattituck Lions Club Strawberry Festival

Strawberry Fields,
1105 North Road, Mattituck

Kick off strawberry season with a community hulling night followed
by a county fair-style weekend of rides, games, local food trucks and artisan vendors, a pie-eating contest and, of course, the Strawberry Queen crowning. Tickets are $10; free for kids under 5, and free for dads on Father’s Day (June 16). Visit mattituckstrawberryfestival.com for more.

ELIH Foundation Annual Golf Classic

Run on the Rock

Shelter Island 10K & 5K Run/Walk

Shelter Island Union Free School District, 33 N. Ferry Road, Shelter Island

This annual rain-or-shine run takes racers on an island-wide course with a mixture of hills and flat terrain. Olympian Bill Rodgers will run this year. Ticket prices vary; register at shelterislandrun.com.

The second annual North Fork Pride includes a parade, street festival and party. The parade kicks off on 3rd Street, travels down Main and ends in Mitchell Park. You can register to march or just enjoy the inclusive festivities. Learn more at northforkpride.org.

Northeast Stage’s annual Shakespeare in the Park stages the classic “Othello” throughout the North Fork, culminating in a three-day run at Mitchell Park overlooking the harbor. Performances at Mitchell Park are free. Visit northeaststage.org for other locations.

A seafood tradition

33rd Annual Lobsterfest

Veterans Beach, 11280 Peconic Bay Blvd., Mattituck

The 33rd annual Lobsterfest supports the Greenport and
Southold Rotary Clubs. For $65 ($75 if you pay at the door at your own risk—this event always sells out!), you get lobster, steak,
and corn on the cob, with beer and wine available for purchase.
A live band will play well into the evening. Buy tickets at

Annual Peach Festival at Harbes

Harbes’ fresh peaches are in full bloom for this sweet festival. There’s a peach-eating contest Saturday and Sunday and live music in the courtyard. Bryan Gallo will perform Saturday;

Polish Town Street Fair and Festival
