Pretty in Pink
This April, stroll through Greenport’s blossoming streets with the annual Cherry Blossom Festival Petal Tour. Locally made flower-themed refreshments and gifts add to the rosy ambiance of this self-guided walking tour of the village’s over 300 cherry blossom trees. Have the month fully booked? The ‘K’ in 5K Stands for ‘Kindness’
Outpace the winter blues and give back to your community this spring with Kim’s Kindness 5K, April 12, at 9 a.m. at Mattituck High School (15125 Main Road, Mattituck). Admission to the race both benefits the Kim’s Acts of Kindness the Kimberly Ann Be The Difference Memorial Scholarship Fund and continues Kim Pawlowski’s memory of unwavering and tireless kindness and care for others. Colors in Bloom

Walk through lush fields of vibrant flowers that call to mind Holland and the Netherlands, including a “Little Amsterdam” tour that includes information about the history of tulips and Dutch culture. ’Tis the (Springtime) Season
Kick off the beginning of farmers market season at the Shelter Island History Center (16 S. Ferry Road, Shelter Island) for the Spring Farmers Market on April 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All your favorite local vendors will be there selling their new spring 2025 wares. Good food and live music complete the feel-good, vernal vibes. Admission is free, though the Shelter Island History Center welcomes donations so that they’re able to keep events like this running. Spring Cleaning

Rites of Spring Begins with Strings
This Rites of Spring concert season isn’t starting out with a bang, but with a pluck, a strum and a symphony. On April 27, the doors open at RGNY Vineyard (6025 Sound Ave., Riverhead) at 4 p.m., though the concert itself doesn’t start until 5 p.m.; guests instead will receive a glass of wine upon entry and have the opportunity to walk through the vineyard. The performance itself will feature the musical craft of the Ulysses Quartet (with violinists Christina Bouey and Rhiannon Banderdt, violist Peter Dudek, and cellist Grace Ho) as well as pianist and Rites of Spring founder Paolo Bartolani.
