Interesting fall events continue to be plentiful as we roll into November. There is so much to do and see on the North Fork — concerts, dinners, 5K races, and even a ghost hunting event in Cutchogue (spooky season is extended). Get out there with friends and family and enjoy yourself before the holiday madness begins!

EAT

First Annual Fall Steak Night Fundraiser | Greenport American Legion, 102 Third St., Greenport

On Saturday from 6-9 p.m., the Legion hosts this fundraiser, with $25 of each ticket sold going to Hurricane Helene disaster relief organizations. The menu includes passed apps, Southold Fish Market’s unlimited raw bar, A Lure’s flat iron steak with veggies and potato, and dessert. Door prizes and music by DJ Chilly make this a fun evening out for a great cause. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased here.

Sip & Savor: Wine Pairing Dinner at the Chequit with Peconic Bay Vineyards | The Chequit Hotel, 23 Grand Ave., Shelter Island Heights

From 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, enjoy a five-course menu paired with wines by Peconic Bay Vineyards. Winemaker Greg Gove will be in attendance to talk about the featured wines. Tickets are $95 and can be purchased here.

Holiday Farmers Market | Twin Fork Beer Company, 807 Raynor Ave., Riverhead

On Saturday, Twin Fork Beer Company hosts the opening of the East End Food Holiday Farmers Market, which will run every Saturday from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. until December 28. After the market, sample Twin Fork’s brews while you enjoy live music with the Dead Ahead Band from 2–5 p.m. For more information click here.

Barrel Tasting | Paumanok Vineyards, 1074 Main Road, Aquebogue

Join winemaker Kareem Massoud on Sunday at noon in Paumanok’s cellar to taste 2023 vintage reds from the barrel, as well as samples from older vintages. The tasting is $50 and includes an assortment of cheeses, breads and pate. To book a reservation, click here.

The Sinking of the Steamboat Lexington Exhibit | Suffolk County Historical Society Museum, 300 West Main Street, Riverhead

Visit this gem of a museum for an opening reception and meet-and-greet with curator and author Bill Bleyer. The exhibit features the famous story of the Steamboat Lexington disaster of 1840 — the worst maritime disaster in Long Island history. The Saturday reception runs from 1–3 p.m.; admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and $2 for children (free for museum members). Click here for more information.

Ghost Hunting on the Village Green | Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council, 27320 Main Road, Cutchogue

On Saturday night — the Day of the Dead! — the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council will host a spooky tour of their historic Village Green properties (including the Wickham House, one of the top 10 most haunted buildings on Long Island) with the Long Island Paranormal Investigators. There are three sessions starting at 6, 8 and 10 p.m; participants should dress warmly and meet at the Carriage House 20 minutes before your tour time. Tickets are $60 here.

The Southold Athletic Association 5K and Fun Run | Southold Elementary school, 420 Oaklawn Ave., Southold

The Southold Schools Athletic Association is a volunteer service organization that supports athletic programs at Southold Schools. The SSAA hosts their annual 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, with check-in from 7:30–8:45 a.m. at the Southold Elementary School Gym. The race starts at 9 a.m., with the Fun Run for kids stepping off at 9:45 a.m. Event runs rain or shine; tickets are $25 in advance ($30 on race day), 18 and under $15 in advance ($25 on race day), kids fun run is free with no registration necessary and awards for all participants. Cobalt Quartet | Floyd Memorial Library, 539 First St., Greenport

Take your pick of two quality concerts at two local libraries, both free:

On Saturday from 2-4 p.m., the Cutchogue Library hosts young musicians Oliver Neubauer, violinist, and Zha Wang, pianist, for performance with a meet-the-performers reception to follow; concert sponsored by The Carole Donlin Charitable Foundation. To register, click here.

On Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m., the Floyd Memorial Library features the Cobalt Quartet, who will perform new compositions for saxophone. Concert co-sponsored by the Long Island Composers Association. For more information, click here.

Lantern Walk | Orient Beach State Park, 40000 Main Road, Orient

The Friends of Orient Beach State Park present this twilight walk on Sunday from 4-5:30 p.m. to mark the end of daylight savings time. Environmental educators will be on hand to explain what can be seen and heard at night and lanterns will be provided. Recommended for ages 6+; tickets are $4 per person and registration is required.
