With a wide variety of happenings this month, there is something for art enthusiasts of all ages and interests to enjoy this month. Here’s your guide to the art shows and exhibits happening on the North Fork this October.

Strange Attractors, a Chaotic Bloom l WILLOUGHBY Art Salon at Vine + Sand, Southold

WILLOUGHBY, the new art salon by Pamela Willoughby and Johnny Pierce, located at Vine + Sand, will have artwork by acclaimed artists Agathe Snow and Randy Polumbo on display throughout October. Snow, who lives and works on the North Fork, creates dioramas, tableaux and paintings from found objects infused with mushroom DNA from her Mattituck farm. Polumbo uses mycelium to fill molds and circumscribe his vision in combination with glass and metal. View the works at the newly renovated Vine + Sand (originally a farmhouse from the 1820s), and enjoy both the interior design and captivating art on display.

Full Moon Arts Collective l William Ris Gallery, Jamesport

The Full Moon Arts Collective began in 2005 under the leadership of conceptual artist Ronnie Wiener, with the goal of creating a space and environment to allow artists of varying disciplines to create visionary work. On Saturday, Oct. 21, the third annual Full Moon Arts Collective group show will open, with an opening reception that day from 4 – 7 p.m. With artwork from nine different artists, including Jane Kirkwood and Steve Palumbo, it promises to be an exciting exhibit. Genres will stretch the scope and leave you feeling inspired.

Fine Arts & Crafts Fair hosted by Old Town Guild l Cutchogue Village Green

The Old Guild, a non-profit organization celebrating 75 years, will have its next Fine Arts & Crafts fair on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain date is Oct. 15). The event, which will take place at the Cutchogue Village Green, will include a mix of fine art and handcrafted items. Enjoy the beautiful outdoors during the beloved fall season and see watercolors, oils, acrylics, photography, pottery and more. There will also be live music to enjoy. Admission is $3 and comes with a free raffle ticket.

Spooky Season Art and Play Party | Downs Farm Preserve, Cutchogue

Group for the East End and Artfully Long Island have teamed up to create a spooktacular time for children, centered around art and learning. The Spooky Season Art & Play Party will take place at Downs Farm Preserve on Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Suggested for children up to six years old (though all are welcome), the event will have fall and Halloween-themed art and sensory activities. The fee is $12, which includes all materials. Come dressed in costume and get into the Halloween spirit while creating some art with the family! Reserve your spot in advance.

BOW DOWN Seaworthy Ships & Noteworthy Captains l Greenport Harbor Brewing Company, Greenport

In celebration of this year’s Maritime Festival (which has been rescheduled to Oct. 21 & 22), Greenport Harbor Brewing Company presents: BOW DOWN Seaworthy Ships and Noteworthy Captains by artists Christina Sun and Kate Mancini. This exhibit brings nautical themes to a new level, with whimsical paintings and line drawings. You can meet the artists on Sunday, Oct. 8 from 1-4 p.m. during Greenport Brewery’s Annual Oyster Festival. Check the website for Tasting Room/Gallery days and hours. This exhibit is on view through November 30th, with great craft beer available!

St. Patrick’s Third Annual Art Exhibit l St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, Southold

Created by participants of the Artful Contemplative Workshops held at the parish throughout the year, the exhibit will include a display of watercolor meditations. This will include hand-made watercolor greeting cards, bookmarks, artful blessings and easel art available for purchase. All proceeds to benefit the Parish.
