Nothing marks the start of summer quite like strawberry picking. Although the North Fork is plentiful, we’ve curated a list of seven unique spots to fill up a carton of farm-fresh berries. To the fields we go!
ORGANICALLY GROWN
Garden of Eve, Riverhead
Garden of Eve is one of the only farms offering organic U-pick produce on the North Fork for $6 per pint box and $4 per half pint. The best time to get your strawberries is Tuesday through Friday, as berries are picked fast!
A HIDDEN GEM
Golden Earthworm Farm, Jamesport
A bit off the beaten path is Jamesport’s Golden Earthworm Organic Farm. Open Monday through Saturday, this farm is family-friendly as well (complete with children’s play area). It is open from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. It is $9 per quart picked.
THE CLASSIC
Lewin Farms, Calverton
This classic farm stand and U-pick farm has been a staple for many lifetime Long Islanders. Relive your childhood and pick your own strawberries to bring home. Open every day (if weather permits) from 9 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. It is cash only, however, an ATM is on site.
FEMALE-OWNED
Patty’s Berries & Bunches, Mattituck
Pick deliciously juicy red strawberries at this female-owned farm. Pay $8 upon entry and fill your quart of freshly picked berries between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 pm. every day.
ON A HISTORIC FARM
Wickham’s Fruit Farm, Cutchogue
One of the oldest continually cultivated pieces of land on the North Fork, at Wickham’s, you’re picking a piece of history. On Mondays through Saturdays beginning at 10 a.m., stroll upon orchards and fields of strawberries as you pick.

Conzdella’s Farm, Wading River
With nine different varieties of strawberries grown, Conzdella’s Farm’s strawberries are full of flavor. Throughout the season, two to three different types of strawberries are available to pick at a time. Open every weekday starting at 9 a.m.

Sujecki Farms & Nurseries, Calverton
Sujecki Farms & Nurseries offers U-pick strawberries seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. when Mother Nature allows. All strawberries are first come, first served, so make sure to get there early to get the best pick! Sujecki Farms sells by the pound, so call ahead for pricing.
