Scenes from a picture-perfect spring on the North Fork

photos by tara smith & victoria caruso

Spring is in the air! As the North Fork once again comes alive with cheery yellow daffodils and delicate cherry blossoms, we can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude to be able to call this place home.

Take a moment and savor the season with us. Here are a few of our favorite photos to get you in a warm-weather mood.

Lots of pretty blooms

From vibrant greenhouse blooms to cherry blossoms and green buds finally appearing on bare winter trees, the North Fork is turning colorful again.

Signs of life on the farm

Driving past Goodale Farms on Main Road, you can’t help but let out an audible “awww” as you drive by the goats — some just weeks old!

At Olde Road Farm in Southold, the lambs have been growing quickly since they were born in February and farmer John Murnane has started preparing his fields for the growing season.

Beach days?

The return of the osprey is a sure sign of warmer days ahead. This fish hawk was recently spotted along Laurel Lane adding a stick to its nest. With record breaking high temperatures in the 80s on Long Island late last week, it was the perfect reason to start the beach season early.
