It may only be the beginning of March, but early signs of spring are already starting to pop up at Backyard Blooms. Yellow tulips, deep purple anemones, and vibrant ranunculus are just a few of the flowers that have begun to bloom inside the greenhouses of the small-scale, high-intensity flower farm.

Backyard Blooms is run by Kim Endres, who first started the business by putting flowers out on a cart by her house at the start of the pandemic. Since then, her business has grown — In addition to her roadside stand, Endres’ blooms are available for wedding floral designs and Spring and Fall CSA subscriptions.

Backyard Blooms is located at 310 Flanders Road in Riverhead. Endres’ self-serve flower stand typically runs from April to November.
