Meet David Betts. He’s an assemblage artist who creates whimsical creatures out of everyday objects.
After working in the corporate world for over 30 years, the Mattituck-based retiree has found joy in scavenging the North Fork for unwanted things, giving objects like old paintbrushes and broken dressers new meaning. His overarching goal is to make people laugh — whenever he finishes a piece, he fabricates a comical story to go alongside it. Betts’ art can be found at In The Attic Too in Mattituck and on his Instagram, @betts622.
