CELEBRATE OCTOBER WITH OKTOBERFEST

This Saturday, Oct. 1 from 3 – 9 p.m., join an impromptu beer crawl in downtown Riverhead as rain is forecast to wash out the originally planned outdoor festivities this weekend along the riverfront.

Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and visit North Fork Brewing Company, Peconic County Brewing, Tradewinds Brewing and Long Ireland Beer Company.

DINE IN THE VINES

If you’ve always dreamed of an intimate dinner among the grapevines, now is your chance. On Sunday, Oct. 2, from 5 to 8 p.m., Lauren Lombardi of Lombardi’s Love Lane Market and Mexican chef duo Mica y Lalo will partner with RG|NY to bring you an autumn evening to remember. The cost for this mul­ticourse wine pairing dinner is $175 per person (plus tax and gratuity) and tickets can be pur­chased at rgnywine.com.

TAKE A WORKSHOP AT LANDCRAFT GARDEN FOUNDATION

Landcraft Garden Foundation in Mattituck is offering five different workshops throughout October. The first is on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 1 – 4 p.m. and participants will make a floral headdress with Brooklyn floral artist Joshua Werber using materials from the gardens and greenhouses at Landcraft Garden Foundation. The cost is $150 for non-members and $135 for members. Other workshops for the month include a nature and sound immersive experience on Friday, Oct. 7, a dry stone walling workshop on Saturday, Oct. 15, and Sunday, Oct. 16, a session on dividing perennials on Tuesday, Oct. 18, and a workshop on wattling: weaving garden accents on Saturday, Oct. 22. TASTE WINES AND SAMPLE OYSTERS

This local oyster showcase, hosted by Sparkling Pointe Vineyards and Winery, will take you on an interactive journey, sampling six wines, each paired with a different local oyster. You’ll get the exciting opportu­nity to talk with the oyster farm­ers and taste their unique oyster varieties. The tasting showcase includes six Sparkling Pointe wines and 1 ½ dozen oysters, half prepared by chefs and half shucked and served by the oys­ter farmers themselves. EAT AND DRINK AT A BOX WINE BBQ

Bridge Lane Wine is pairing up with Maple Tree BBQ to bring you an evening of good food, great wine, and local tunes. On Saturday, Oct. 8 from 5 – 8 p.m. head to Bridge Lane Wines in Mattituck for BBQ, a glass of wine, and lawn seating. Tickets start at $40 per person. TOUR BUG LIGHT

Every Saturday in October from 5 to 7 p.m., you can hop aboard a cruise to Bug Light for an inside tour of the lighthouse led by Bob Allen, great-grandson of the 1912-1940 lighthouse keeper. These recurring tours are hosted by East End Seaport Museum and Marine Foundation. Coolers are allowed and participants are welcome to enjoy their own snacks during the cruise to and from the lighthouse. GET COZY AND CRAFTY AT THE LIBRA HARVEST CELEBRATION

On Saturday, Oct. 22, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Breitenbach Farms in Aquebogue, sip on warming beverages and nibble on fall-inspired eats while crafting with your favorite book. Come pre­pared by bringing a favorite book (new or used) and dress the part in cozy sweaters and flannels, warm socks, and soft scarves. $22 per person before Oct. 4 or $33 per person there­after. SIP WINE AND CREATE WITH SUCCULENTS

LISTEN TO MUSIC ON THE RIVER

While it might be the last one of the season, Live Music on the River at Peconic Bay Herb Farm is the perfect way to spend your Sunday. On Sunday, Oct. 16 from 3 – 6 p.m. listen to live music by Who Are Those Guys while you enjoy the stunning grounds of Peconic River Herb Farm. The event is free and open to the public.

BARN DANCE HALLOWEEN STYLE

Celebrate Halloween with a barn dance. On Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. suit up in your best costume and head to Spirits Promise in Riverhead to dance the night away. There will be a prize for the best costume. BYO snacks and drinks. Tickets, which are available only in advance, are $15 per person and can be purchased here.
