Being a CSA member not only supports local farms throughout the growing season, it’s also the best route to get the freshest produce from their farm to your table. Here are some of our favorite CSA picks across the North Fork. Don’t live on the North Fork? Not a problem, most of these farms offer pick-up locations across Long Island and the New York City metro area.
For those looking for something different, this farm offers three farm box sizes: Small feeds one to two people, medium up to three, large up to four. The farm share is fully customizable and flexible, offering weekly or bi-weekly deliveries of locally sourced farm goods from North Fork farms, including their own. Perks: Add-ons can include cut flowers, fruit, beef, and milk and bread shares.

A 24-week farm share begins June 8 and ends Nov. 16. It includes seven to nine items of certified organic fruits and vegetables. Add-ons are also available, including flowers, plants, eggs, beer and cheese. Perks: Members are welcome to pick their own herbs, flowers and some vegetables directly from the farm.

A 25-week farm share from June through November includes six to nine full bunches of certified organic produce. A Briermere fruit share add-on is available. Perks: Members enjoy 10% off purchases at the North Fork farm stand shop and a free quart of U-pick strawberries in June. While this CSA may be sold out for the 2022 season, be sure to get on their newsletter list for first dibs for next year.
652 Peconic Bay Blvd., Riverhead
A 20-week farm share including eight to 12 items of certified organic fruits and vegetables. New this year is the no-till farm’s “select your own” format allowing you to choose the size, ripeness and variety you prefer. Perks: Members are invited to harvest cut flowers, herbs and U-pick berries.

A 24-week farm share runs from June 7 through Nov. 15. Partial and full shares are available. Partial share includes five to seven items of certified organic vegetables per week; full share includes eight to 10. Add-ons are also available, including fruit and cheese from local North Fork partners. Perks: Members enjoy a 10% discount on all additional purchases at the farm market.

A 20-week farm share begins in early June. Weekly produce boxes include seasonal fruits and vegetables that value around $25. Perks: Members will receive a weekly e-newsletter letting you know what’s in the box, recipe suggestions and updates on farm events.

7. Sep’s Farm
Starting in June, Sep’s will offer multiple share options, including a shorter summer share (10 weeks) and a longer summer share (14 weeks). Shares include fruits and vegetables, and members will receive a weekly menu and can shop their own items from each category at the farm stand during regular business hours. Perks: A flower CSA share is also available.
