In the age of COVID-19, the number of restaurants participating in Long Island Restaurant Week has been scaled back significantly.
On the North Fork, just four restaurants will participate in the annual fall prix fixe event, all of which offer outdoor dining. Islandwide, Restaurant Week is down to about 60 of the normally 250 participating eateries.
There are still a fair amount of solid options across Suffolk County, however, including the seafood spot Anker in Greenport, the Caribbean-themed Rumba in Hampton Bays and its sister restaurants Rhum and Cowfish, and even highly regarded up-Island steakhouses Prime and Tellers.
This fall the event organizers have also added a $20 two-course lunch option at many of the restaurants in addition to the usual three-course dinner, which this year is $35 with upgrades at some participating locations.
Long Island Restaurant Week kicks off this Sunday, Oct. 18 and runs through the following Sunday, Oct. 25.
We scoured through the dining options, including menus where they have already been made available, and made our pick for a dozen restaurants to check out this Long Island Restaurant Week both on the North Fork and elsewhere in Suffolk County.
