One Minute on the North Fork: Horton Point Lighthouse

Out on a quiet cliff in Southold is the Horton Point Lighthouse. The day was warm, but the wind coming off the sound kept the air cool. The 58-foot-tall lighthouse was built in 1857 and automated in 1933.

In 1990, the structure was restored and the Keeper’s House was converted into the Nautical Museum it is today.
