Celebrity chef David Burke is teaming up with East End meal service Honest Plate to create some exclusive meal options. The dishes will be based off locally sourced ingredients and will be all organic, with much of it grown in Honest Plate’s greenhouse in Riverhead.

Burke is known for his appearances on “Top Chef Masters,” “The Rachael Ray Show” and “Today.” He broke out as a young chef at places like River Café and Park Avenue Café before launching a suite of restaurants baring his name around the country.

Partnering with Honest Plate, which launched earlier this year out of The Spur in Southampton, Burke will make offerings such as Moroccan Spiced Chicken Lettuce Cups and his famous Clothesline Bacon, with squash substituting for the pork.

The east end meal kit service was founded in January 2020 as a way to combine meal services with plant-based, pescatarian and clean eaters in mind.

“Partnering with Honest Plate, with its high degree of customization that enables families to eat together, but not necessarily eat the same thing together, along with its health and plant forward direction is so relevant to these extraordinary times,” Burke said in a press release.

Co-founder Ashley John Heather is excited to bring on someone with Burke’s experience.

“Chef Burke’s groundbreaking techniques, combined with Honest Plate’s farm-to-fork and minimal waste concept, is bringing the healthy food system to a whole new level,” he said.

David Burke’s Honest Plate offerings will make their way to the menu on June 24 and start at $16 per meal. Orders can be placed at www.HonestPlate.com.
