A Lure and Rideshore are taking waterfront delivery to a whole new level.

The restaurant, which already offers dockside delivery for those who want to pick up their dinner straight from their boat at the restaurant, is partnering up with Rideshore, a boat chartering company, to offer delivery from A Lure to anchored boats in Budd’s Pond, the harbor to the west of the restaurant.

This new service started Friday and will be available Tuesday through Sunday when A Lure is open. The delivery must be made to an anchored boat in Budds Pond, the harbor to the west of the restaurant. Co-owner Adam Lovett said it’s all part of the restaurant’s plan to reach more people in new and unique ways and they hope to expand on the locations where they deliver.

To order for a delivery, a form will be available on Rideshore’s website. Once the form is complete, A Lure will contact you either via text or call to confirm the order and take any necessary payment information.

From there, the food is made and given to a representative from Rideshore who will deliver it to the anchored vessel. The boat ride delivery itself should take about five minutes, but co-owner Adam Lovett said they may be holding orders at first for convenience.

“We may be holding orders early on, until we can kind of group them together,” he said.

The menu will be a la carte and everything available will be up on the order form through Rideshore. Rideshore is also working with Duryea’s on the south shore to offer a similar service to boaters on Shelter Island. Lovett, who is also a partner at A Mano in Mattituck, is excited to expand his delivery service to make it available for more people.

“We never did delivery up until two months ago, and now I’m doing two thirds of my business with deliveries alone,” he said. “So we’re quickly learning how that business works. I’ve never had food delivered on a boat. We’ll see how that goes, but I imagine it’s going to be very similar.”

A Lure is open Tuesday to Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday from 12 to 8 p.m., Friday to Saturday from 12 to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday 12 to 7:30 p.m.
