The private beach at the end of South Harbor Road in Southold offers a peaceful escape this time of year.

Far removed from the pumpkin traffic at a time of year when the beach is mostly empty, a stroll at the beach is pure tranquility in mid-September.

We visited Friday with a camera to watch the calm Peconic Bay water hit the shore and take in the peaceful sights.
