The Pridwin Hotel’s all you can eat Wednesday night cookouts. (Credit: Elizabeth Wagner)
When it comes to summer on Shelter Island, The Pridwin’s Wednesday night cookouts are hard to beat. Not only do the grounds of the historic waterfront hotel boast sweeping sunset views over Peconic Bay, its weekly offering of live music and all-you-can-eat cookout menu is an unabashed mid-week escape.
For $45 adults get admission to the barbecue, which features fresh-grilled tuna as well as Kobe beef ribs, burgers, clams, mussels, salads and all-you-can drink draught beer. Admission for children is $20.
Wednesday night cookouts at the Pridwin run through Labor Day weekend. If you’ve just added the event to your bucket list (or are looking to be a repeat attendee), the next one is July 17 at 6 p.m.
Come by car or boat, though dock space is first-come-first-serve. Visitors are encouraged to phone ahead at 631-749-0476 since a rough headcount helps the staff know how much food to grill up each week.
The Pridwin is located at 81 Shore Road, Shelter Island.
