There’s something particularly enticing about the drive over the Shinnecock Canal into Hampton Bays, as your eyes scan both sides of the highway to catch a glimpse of the open water.
In some respects, Hampton Bays feels like an island unto itself, with the canal, Great Peconic Bay to the north and Shinnecock Bay to the south — plus the added bonus of crossing the Ponquogue Bridge to the Atlantic Ocean.
For our latest segment of “One Minute,” we made waterfront stops along the canal and both bays, while also finding time for a quick stop at the ocean.
